Nestled near the intersection of two busy freeways in west Pasadena is one of the world's most beautiful and esteemed concert halls: Ambassador Auditorium.

The Worldwide Church of God built Ambassador Auditorium as a center of worship at its international headquarters in Pasadena, and later opened it to the public for fine cultural performances.

The marvelously modern auditorium took 12 years to conceptualize and two years to build. The materials and furnishings for Ambassador Auditorium have been gathered from many nations, truly making it an international cultural center.

Known as the "Carnegie Hall of the West," Ambassador Auditorium hosted 20 seasons of the world's best musicians and performers from 1974 to 1995. Its magnificent walls have reverberated with the sound of applause from 2.5 million concertgoers at over 2,500 concerts, while achieving a world-renowned reputation as one of the world's finest performance halls.

Since opening in 1974 when the Vienna Symphony Orchestra performed at its inauguration, the acoustically perfect auditorium hosted such famed performers as Luciano Pavarotti, Pearl Bailey, Yo-Yo Ma, and Vladimir Horowitz. After playing the auditorium, many of these artists concluded the acoustics exceeded those of Carnegie Hall.

Directions to Ambassador Auditorium

From the South on the Pasadena Freeway (110):
Exit at Orange Grove Blvd., go North (turn left) and proceed six traffic lights to Green Street. Turn right onto Green Street and park on the street; or continue on Green St., turn right onto St. John Ave. and park on the street or in the parking structure.

From the East on the Foothill Freeway (210):
Exit at Orange Grove Blvd. via the Ventura Freeway (134). Go South (turn left) on Orange Grove, then turn left at the second traffic light onto Green Street and park on the street; or continue on Green St., turn right onto St. John Ave. and park on the street or in the parking structure.

From the Ventura Freeway (134):
Exit at Orange Grove Blvd. and proceed straight onto Colorado Blvd. Turn right at the first traffic light onto St. John Ave., and park on St. John Ave., in the parking structure, or circle the campus to the right and park on Green Street.

From the North on the Foothill Freeway (210):
Take the Colorado Blvd. exit, proceed straight onto St. John Ave., and park on St. John Ave., in the parking structure, or circle the campus and park on Green Street.  Important notes about parking:

• AMPLE PARKING WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE PARKING STRUCTURE ON ST. JOHN AVE, FOR A $5 FEE PER VEHICLE.  (VIP Package ticketholders may show a ticket to the parking attendant to receive free parking.)
• Additional parking may be available on Green St. and St. John Ave.
• On-street parking is not available on Del Mar Blvd. or Orange Grove Blvd.
• St. John Ave. is one-way (north to south). If you pass the parking structure, you will need to circle the campus in order to re-enter St. John via Green Street from the north.
